Peaks of Colour: Revolution Ecology
Peaks of Colour is a Peak District-based nature-for-healing club made by and for people of colour. Founded in 2021 by Evie Muir, Peaks of Colour offers walking and self healing activities across the Peak District that allows those from marginalised groups to access and reclaim their own rights to nature.
Revolution Ecology: A Peaks of Colour Manifesto, is an A4 Political Pamphlet that gives insight into the aims of Peaks of Colour and their demands in order to achieve racial, gendered and land justice.
The outcome is a foldable flyer that consists of two sides, a collage poster and the Peaks of Colour Manifesto. The poster shows images of activst and writer Bell Hooks amongst Civil Rights protestors overlooking scenes from the Peak District.
The collage poster is a visual representation of the inequalities shown within land, racial and gendered justice and how activism, protest and liberation can free racialised communities from oppression and harm. Lanyard mock ups have also been included as an example of additional project development for future use.
