War Child: Secret 7”

Starting in 2012 and finishing in 2021, Secret 7” raised over £500K for good causes. In 2024, charity organisation War Child brought back the Secret 7” project in order to raise money for children currently living through conflict across the world.

The concept of Secret 7” involves 7 tracks made by musicians that each have 100 unique record designs made by upcoming and well known artists/designers. For Secret 7” in 2024, each record design was put up for online auction (via Peggy) and exhibited at London’s NOW Gallery, with the identities of the artists kept hidden until bidding ended.

One of the tracks included in War Childs Secret 7” was Stop This Flame’ by Celeste. Celeste describes the song as ‘seeing it through to the end’, emphasising the daily trials and tribulations we may face within our lives in order to reach our own personal goals.

The record design made for Celeste’s ‘Stop This Flame’ is a visual representation of an individual and the journey they take in order to reach an ‘end goal’. By using a variety of physical collage cutouts from books and magazines, each section of the image is representative of the many emotions and experiences we all go through within different parts of our lives.

Secret 7” 2024 raised a total of £210,000 for War Child, helping to protect, educate and stand up for the rights of children living through war.
